Municipal Primary election – Saturday March 26, 2022

Early Voting: March 12 – 19, 2022 (excluding Sunday March 13th) from 8:30 am – 6:00 pm – 

The Republican Party of Jefferson Parish endorsed candidates for the general election on the March 26, 2022 ballot at its endorsement meeting held February 7, 2022. After hearing presentations from candidates and their answers to questions from the members, the committee made the following endorsements:

City of Kenner

Mayor – Michael Glaser Sr.

Chief of Police – Keith Conley

Council Member District 2 – “Ronnie” Scharwath

Council Member District 3 – “Joey” LaHatte III

Council Member District 5 –Brian Brennan

The Jefferson Parish Republican Executive Committee unanimously approved the following resolution at its meeting on July 12, 2021:

RESOLUTION

Whereas, Governor John Bel Edwards vetoed 19 House bills, 8 Senate bills, and portions of House Bill 2 of the 2021 Regular Session of the Legislature, and

Whereas, the vetoed bills were all authored by Republicans, and

Whereas, most of the bills passed by large margins, and

Whereas, several Republican groups around the state have called for the Legislature to convene to override the Governor’s vetoes,

Therefore, be it resolved that the Jefferson Parish Republican Parish Executive Committee urges the Jefferson Parish Republican delegation legislators to convene in a veto override session.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be transmitted via email to the Jefferson Parish Republican delegation legislators.
